Solar Christmas Tree Lighting

Each year for the past 18 years ASUSES has hosted the Solar Christmas Tree Lighting! The purpose of this event is to brine the greater ASU/Boone/Watauga community together for a holiday celebration and to inform the public about the benefits and importance of clean renewable sources of energy. We setup a small array of Photovoltaics panels that are wired to a battery bank, so during the day the panels with gather sun energy and convert it into electricity. This setup powers many strands of L.E.D. christmas tree lights each night during the holidays. The lights are on a huge pine tree at the Jone House on King st. in downtown Boone. We have an average of 150 people that show up each year to celebrate the holidays with Solar club and the solar christmas tree lighting. Stay tuned to this years date!
